What Are Personal Ads?
Why Should You Add Them to Your Media Guide?
Families Can Celebrate Their Athletes
Almost every school we work with sells standard business advertisements and personal ads in their high school sports media guides. These personal ad spaces allow parents and fans to give a heartfelt shoutout to their favorite player or coach, adding a personal and emotional touch to the media guide.
Personal ads typically include 1–2 photos of the featured athlete, and their name, and a custom message from the parent, or fans want to give a shoutout to their favorite player or coach.
Often purchased by families, personal ads not only celebrate student-athletes but also contribute significantly to high school sports fundraising. They create a dedicated space in your printed media guide that families will cherish, while also boosting your overall advertising revenue. Personal ads are an affordable, meaningful way to combine community support with effective sports program fundraising.
It’s a Great Fundraising Opportunity
Personal ads help with their sports fundraising, but more than anything else they add to a media guide by highlighting the players and families connected to your game day program.
At storyoftheaseason.com, we don't recommend super high prices for personal ads because we want the personal ads to be accessible to all families.
We have seen teams charge anywhere from $25 to $250 for personal ads for their media guide. These are usually ¼, ½ or full page ads.
We recommend keeping the ad sizes small as you can easily sell 20+ of these ads and they can use up a lot of space in your media guide. This can be a great way to top up your high school sports programs fundraising efforts.
Most of the time teams charge $50 for a ¼ page and $100 for a half page, but it varies.
